Advantages

2. The waveform can be stored for a long time, and the stored waveform can be amplified and other operations and analysis.
3. It is especially suitable for measuring single-shot and low-frequency signals, and there is no flickering phenomenon of analog oscilloscope when measuring low-frequency signals.
4. More trigger methods, in addition to pre-triggers that analog oscilloscopes do not have, there are logic triggers, pulse width triggers, etc.
5. It can be connected to computers, printers, and plotters through GPIB, RS232, and USB interfaces, and files can be printed, archived, and analyzed.
6. With powerful waveform processing capabilities, it can automatically measure many parameters such as frequency, rise time, and pulse width.
Issues needing attention:
1. The distortion is relatively large. Since the IP protection level test tool is displayed by sampling the waveform, the smaller the number of sampling points, the greater the distortion. Usually there are 512 sampling points in the horizontal direction, which is limited by the large sampling rate. There are fewer sampling points nearby, so the distortion is greater at high speeds.
2. The ability to measure complex signals is poor. Due to the limited number of sampling points of the IP protection level test tool and the absence of brightness changes, many waveform details cannot be displayed. Although some may have two or more brightness levels, this is only a relative significance. The above difference, coupled with the limited display resolution of the oscilloscope, makes it still unable to reproduce the effect of the analog display.
3. There may be artifacts and aliased waveforms. When the sampling clock frequency is lower than the signal frequency, the displayed waveform may not be the actual frequency and amplitude. The bandwidth of the IP protection level test tool is closely related to the sampling rate. When the sampling rate is not high, interpolation calculation is needed, which is prone to confusing waveforms.
